Jean-Louis Le Roux is a renowned expert in telecommunication networks. With an extensive global telecommunications industry experience and a passion for new technologies and innovation, Jean-Louis heads Orange International Networks Infrastructures & Services (OINIS), the international technical direction of the Orange Group. OINIS teams are designing, deploying, operating & protecting all Orange international networks (transmission, routing & services). This represents more than 800 points of presence in 100 countries managed by 1,500 networks and services experts worldwide with unique expertise in submarine cables, satellites, terrestrial transmission, IP Networks, Telco Cloud, CDN, Voice and Mobile services. OINIS supports the development of the Enterprise market with Orange Business, as well as the Wholesale market with Orange Wholesale (telcos and ISPs and Big tech players). Jean-Louis is CTIO for Orange Wholesale as well. Jean-Louis has over twenty five years of experience within Orange with a series of technical leadership roles in innovation and international technical organizations. He started his career as a network architect in 2000 and contributed to the design of many affiliate networks of the Orange group, developing traffic engineering expertise. He held many Internet standards and patents in the field of network engineering. He then held various leadership positions within Research & Development including developing domestic services, and then software factories in charge of conversational platforms. He joined OINIS in 2016 as head of the French Enterprise Network and then head of International Network deployment. He is behind many industry pioneering moves involving network automation, softwarization, disaggregation and convergence, that have been reckoned with in the telco industry, and is also very keen on experimenting new ways of working and managing teams. Born in 1977, he holds a Master’s degree in Telecom Engineering from IMT Atlantic School – Telecom Bretagne (2000). He also graduated from IHEDN (Institut des Hautes Etudes de Defense Nationale) in 2008. He is the proud and dedicated father of 4 children.
